OK, that was a really stupid episode. It had loads of potential - the thing about the guy inserting himself into memories is a brilliant idea - but the execution was way off.
For starters, it was full of plot holes. Most notably, Rhys not being retconned at the end. Adam being there in the first place didn't really make any sense. Ship-wise, the Tosh-Owen thing is getting old already, and I loudly exclaimed, "Oh, for fuck's sake" when Gwen made that stupid remark about loving Jack.
For the first, like, twenty minutes of the episode I thought Adam was called Alan.
I'm not even going to go into the Jack's memories stuff in any detail, except to say - I've often wondered how Star Wars might have been different if Geroge Lucas had shot it in Rhyl instead of Tunisia. Now I know.
Additionally, I didn't think it was possible for Torchwood to get any more
Narm-tastic than in "Meat", with that stupid, stupid line about "My friend, what have they done to you?" or whatever it was - but I was wrong. I was laughing throughout this episode. In particular, the bit where Adam started giving Ianto false memories was hilarious, mainly due to the cheesy faux-horror movie camerawork. In particular, the bits where the camera rapidly zoomed in and out on his face while he freaked out. Funny, but annoying because convincing someone so thoroughly nice that he was a rapist should by rights be a stroke of genius.
Still, next week's (which was on BBC3 last night, but I didn't watch it) has both Martha from Doctor Who and Jim Robinson from Neighbours in it, which in theory should be badass. It won't be, but I can dream.
Uh yeah, don't tell me anything about 2.6 if you've seen it 'cos I haven't yet.
Dammit, this is annoying... this was going to be a post about a bunch of different things but I forgot the rest of them.
I guess... happy Valentine's day? If you go for that sort of thing? :-/
