i used to be ok with harry/ginny (never been a big fan, but i had nothing against them as a pairing, or anything) but it got so boring and bland with a side of creepy that now i don't even like them together
That's exactly how I feel. I was almost totally indifferent to any Harry pairings until I started actively disliking this one.
I agree that both the ghoul and Ginny's irrational jealousy are meant to be funny. I also agree that they're not funny. JKR's jokes are really weak a lot of the time, and the feeling I get off them is that she's trying too hard to be funny instead of just, you know, being funny.
not that it worked if that's the case, because i've lost count of all the "wedding attack" scenes i've already read in fanfic
There are quite a few moments in this book like that - when they realise who RAB is, is another one. I guess that's what happens when you have a fandom this size and a two-year wait between instalments (and the creator isn't the world's greatest writer either) - by the time the book comes out, the fans have already written it/drawn it/speculated about it and done it better. :D
