This is a little rambly and may, possibly, contain spoilers for all sorts of things, so I'm sticking it under a cut. Lovely.

I had a Potter-related dream last night. It was pretty weird. In the dream, it was announced that the jkrowling.com website would change styles at a prearranged time, and you'd have to navigate it by physically entering it and walking around (think Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, except you actually went in yourself). Anyway, so I did this, and there were lots of new bits of information to find, including one which was so well-hidden it was nearly impossible to locate. I did find it, though, because I have 1337 5ki11z. It turned out to be the key to the end of the series, which was essentially that someone - not sure who, actually - had been splitting Harry's soul into pieces and hiding them in objects without him knowing, so he had horcruxes and would be able to survive death, but he wasn't evil because he hadn't actually killed. Which is a theory I rather like, now I come to think of it. Hey, wouldn't it be cool if I had figured out the end of the series because it came to me in a dream? Anyway, there was also some subplot involving the Dursleys having been tortured, or having been under threat of torture, due to their connection with James and Lily, which was one of the reasons Dumbledore had kept in touch with Aunt Petunia. But mainly, Harry had bits of his soul in objects, but didn't know it yet.

More than anything, though, the dream made me realise exactly how ripped off from uncannily similar to Diana Wynne Jones' Chrestomanci books (specifically Charmed Life) the whole Horcrux thing is.

Hmmph.

Also, the dream made me think that when I am disgustingly rich, I would love to own a massive plot of land which would be landscaped to resemble Hyrule in Ocarina of Time (the video game, not the terrible fic I write which I might even update if I get a chance). Yeah, so it would only have to be a few acres - a big field in the middle, and a lake off to one side, a river on the other side, some woods, a mountainous bit, and a deserty bit. Hyrule Castle town would be my actual house - the marketplace would be a sort of courtyard where I would entertain. (There wouldn't be any zombies there.) Kakariko town would be built too, although I'm not sure if I'd live there or build a couple of little cottages or what. The windmill would definitely be present, though, and the well. Maybe an ornamental graveyard, who knows. There would be chickens. Zora's Domain would be a bit like this weirdass country park I used to go to when I was wee, where the river was diverted into lots of little streams and lakes you could swim in. The Kokiri woods would basically be a playground for me to be eccentric in.

It's all a moot point as right now I barely scrape together enough for the rent, but a girl can dream.

I had a rather fun weekend, anyway. I did lots of craft stuff - knitted on the Slytherin scarf I just started, worked on birthday gifts for my brother and sister (they are 21 soon), and worked on accessories for the costumes evil_underlord and I will be wearing this new year in Cornwall. It's a little early to be starting on the costumes but I have plenty of free time now and I won't nearer the time, plus making stuff is fun. Also I went for a walk on the seafront yesterday - it was spitting heavy, cold rain and it was windy, which meant there were no people, which is when I like Brighton beach the best. The sea was rough and crashy and it reminded me of home (as in the Westcountry) which was sort of nostalgic and good. Weird considering how long I spent longing to get out of there, but I guess that's the way these things are.

Oh yeah, and also I have a new layout. Isn't it shibby? A tad goth perhaps, but I like it anyway.
