Hmm... so, no updates for awhile. What can I say, for the most part my life is pretty boring. Most exciting thing to happen to me before today was getting my Death Knight in WoW to level 80... which is exciting for me. Kinda dull to other people.

Today something fairly important to my life happened to... happen.

I discovered my current position at my current employer will cease to exist in the middle of April, and there are no other positions available to me with said employer. So I'm on the prowl for a new job. One good lead, a former team lead at Convergys (where I work for the moment) has moved on, up, and out to another local company called Protus. He's a hiring manager, over there, and 90% of the time I walked past him at Convergys his greeting to me was "Hey Superstar, what's up?"

Good portents around this one, provided I didn't completely blow the resume I submitted about an hour ago. :P

And if it falls through I still have 2 months to find something else.

Surprisingly little doom & gloom talk at work today considering. Alot of people agreeing that the company we're supporting right now who has chosen not to renew our contract, resulting in these terminations, has probably set themselves up for some pretty half-assed customer service over the next 12 weeks. Why would we try? What are they going to do, fire us? :D

Several people got some interesting plans. One of my coworkers is thinking of putting together a business plan and buying a video store that's up for sale in his hometown. One's considering either getting an honest to god network admin job or following his aspirations of professional photography. A couple were kinda panicking (should have read the Hitchiker's Guide :P). One or two were talking about going back to school, since EI will continue while you're retraining.

If I had the skills for a trade, that would so be the way to go. Course, I'd probably electrocute myself in the process of welding a 2x4 to my head while trying to fix a toilet.

Don't ask how, just trust me, I would.
