Good Times

It's always good to see old friends. Did the usual this year for New Year's. Local H at the Bottom Lounge. Melissa isn't even a big fan but this was her seventh straight NYE show! That's pretty amusing to me. She must really love me, heh. Anyway, we had a blast this weekend. Wade and Jenny stopped by to see the girls on Friday, and they stayed for dinner while we watched the Red Wings/Blackhawks game. It was a good game and it was enjoyable to watch with someone as knowledgeable about hockey as Wade is. Hell, it was nice to watch a sporting event with someone other than the girls for once, heh. Saturday we all met up at the Bottom Lounge before the show, we had a few drinks and watched Local H ring in the new year. It was a good set list, although some thought it was a tad bit short. In all honesty I thought it was just about right, but then again I'm getting old and being a dad is exhausting. I'm also somewhat of a lightweight these days.

Wow, that was last night I guess, lol. It's been a long weekend. This morning I watched some football, (my fantasy football season was phenomenal this year, two league championships and one second place finish) and then the whole family met up with the out of towners for some 'za at Gino's. It's always good to see everyone, even if it pretty much is only once a year. Local H said they were starting to record their new album in a couple of weeks so hopefully there will be a record release show in the near future. If not, I guess we'll have to hang out next new year's.
