DVD Drive?
So, I'm in the market for an (external) DVD drive. I have a 5-year-old Dell Dimension desktop computer, and I'd like to be able to do the following (in order of importance):

1. Back up videos (eps, clips, fanvids), pictures (Jensen!), and documents (spreadsheets!) to DVD. Applications,

i would choose the lg over the sony, because the lg writes to more disc formats (dvd-r and dvd+r) and has s-video inputs - meaning you could essentially input directly from a vcr or other such.

i'm using this one, and have had no issues, but since i am using a mac, i wanted to have the option of using either firewire or usb2.0.

it depends on what i'm trying to do. in general, i use toast (windows version is roxio creator, i think?). :)

Toast, Roxio, and Nero seem to be the main programs, and of course, each one has its fans and detractors. When I finally get a drive (probably after payday, but I'm hoping to get another Rewards coupon, first), I may be back at your door asking for tech support ;-)

Yay! I loved my previous SPN layout, but I also loved knowing that this amazing header was waiting for me when I was ready to make a change. (I snagged it in October, heh.) I have a feeling this header's here for a while :)

Speaking of which, LOVE your icon ♥ Oh, and I don't know what ep you're on, but I've commenced further S2 dubbing. I'm doing three sets, heh: for you, for a RL friend (to whom I also gave the S1 DVDs), and for me. It's like the Dean Channel around my house. Take that, hiatus :)
