I know I'm abusing the term (two, actually), but SPN has essentially been retro-jossed (or something) for me. That is, all I could think about was Oz. C'mon, boys! Be a little creative. All you need is a cage, strong chains, and a calendar! Sigh, I know it's a different 'verse, but I just couldn't get over the notion that it was completely unnecessary to kill her, so I disconnected from the angst over it.
Of course, I'm more interested in the brothers, anyway, but they brought up the parallels there without exploring them, so there's really not much to say about that.
I get that the ripped-out hearts were a Sam metaphor (he was the worst luck with the women he sleeps with), but there should have been something to the literal missing hearts. Also, why didn't she turn that one night? There need to be rules!
In other reactions, it's always great to see San Francisco onscreen. I thought that Jared was great. And also hot. (OMG HANDS!) I like that brunettes now seem to be his type, too :) I was spoiled for the sex, and the promos spoiled the identity of the wolf, so I figured she was gonna die (which helped with the disconnect). The cut-tags (oh, sweet torture) and the phone call from
adjrun (via mr_adjrun) sealed the deal, heh. I liked Emmanuelle Vaugier on Smallville, and I think she did a good job, here. I don't resent her for getting to kiss both Rosenbaum and JPad. (I do resent Kristen Kreuk for getting to kiss both Welling and Jensen.) I was sad for Sam, but in my head, he's going to end up with Sarah Blake, so...
Two episodes in a row with the boys so intensely focused on helping one woman is a bit much. And gah, I hope that Sam doesn't end up wanted for her murder. ETA: Speaking of, while I love the detail of her wearing Sam's shirt, I hope he didn't leave it (her?) behind. Not to mention the sheets :|
Finally, and not for nothing, but Jensen continues to be beautiful when he cries.
