Smallville 5.19 - Mercy
1. I was actually bored at first. I enjoy Lionel, but he's one of those "small doses" characters for me. Then my night perked up at Lex, Clark, and Chloe in the same room. Working together! And damn, Lex wants Clark back sooooo bad. That could've been pathetic, but Lex played it smooth :)
2. Things That Are Patently Unfair: a) Lionel knows and Lex doesn't. b) We get an episode named Mercy and no Mercy. (I'm much too attached to the idea of Eliza Dushku joining the cast and setting my screen on fire whenever she and Lex share a scene. Added bonuses: Clark would be wicked-jealous and Lex would finally have proper security.)
3. Things That Are Fair: a) Lionel's security is as bad as Lex's. b) "And then, you kissed me back." c) Hardly any Lana. No Lois.
4. Hot Lex: a) That VOICE he's been using on Lana lately -- all low, and raw, and rrrrrrough. b) Lex slamming statues to the floor. ("Nice catch", Clark, heh.) Also, Lex kicking in doors and leaning in doorways. c) The CLEX. Damn straight Lex is "still obsessing over him". My world has been righted :)
5. Amazing Clark: a) That LOOK that Clark and Lionel share after Clark catches the elevator. Seriously, I really felt that. b) Clark getting in Lionel's face. The escalation there was really well done. Tom's always good with JG. Speaking of JG, he rocked the elevator scenes.
6. I know I'm horribly biased, but they really don't light anyone on this show better than they do Lex. Exhibit A: That last scene with Lionel.
7. Random: For a half-second, I thought the masked man was going to be Lucas. How did MR not choke on "serious blow to the head"? I might want that to be foreshadowing. Finally, I can't stop thinking about Clark and Lex in the Porsche. Interesting drive, I'm sure...
Supernatural 1.20 - Dead Man's Blood
1. I was going to say that I love Dean's facial expressions -- so adorable and hot -- but really, I just love Dean's face :)
2. The P.O. box thing seemed overly complicated. Couldn't they just have found the letter in Elkins' desk or something?
3. Papa W. really isn't the best dad, but that works for the show, and it's not like you can't feel the love under the anger. Still, I prefer the theory that Dad stays away because he knows something about The Demon, and it has to do with Sam.
4. Aw, poor peacemaker Dean. I half-expected him to break into the Chandler Dance of "Stop fighting!"
5. I know it would've been too meta, but I can't help but wish they'd cast Julie Benz as the vamp. And when Papa W. was talking about Colt making that gun for a hunter, I thought: Holtz!
6. Other people's vamp mythology will always seem wrong to me. It just will. (Even if those people came before Joss.) I like "mate for life", though. Because I'm a sap like that.
7. Do the boys have Elkins' book, now? I figure they could use a second one just in case Dad's book stops providing leads and drama. Book = Hellmouth/Meteors.
