Outside of FenSheaParkway, I don't socialize much with other sports websites, just like the real FenSheaParkway doesn't socialize much outside of his apartment. I comment from time to time at Yanksfan vs Soxfan, or on some of the other MetSox-related Livejournals, but don't have a lot to add since, as previously stated, I'm not a sports fan who can rattle off memorable games or years. Mostly I just try to be funny, with mixed results.

I don't participate with a lot of places but in most cases, I could if I wanted to. The owners of many web journals encourage the free exchange of ideas, mostly because if they didn't, they might lose 20% of their 10 readers. But when you're big time, you can afford to be a little less democratic. Such as it has been at the biggest one, Deadspin, which employs someone, possibly for free, to actually comb through potential comments and "approve" worthy candidates. This complicated vetting process (if you fail to impress, your account goes dead and you have to re-apply) works because there is such a demand for a functional account that trying out for one hasn't yet gone out of style. But it was a process I've been mostly disinterested in submitting to. An occasional half-hearted attempt aside, I was happy enough to read one-liners written by people who are admittedly much more entertaining than I.

But in the past week, perhaps spurred by reading God Save The Fan, and discovering an motto for this site, I decided to try again. What the hell, it couldn't hurt, right?

Oh geez, oh geez, what do I do now? The pressure!
