Hey again everyone,
If y'all remember a few weeks ago I mentioned the idea of changing my screen name since Shiroi Ookami is 1) Annoyingly long 2) Taken on most sites and 3) Is beginning to sound kinda silly ('white wolf', c'mon...). So basically with the idea of keeping the 'Shiroi' part of my name since that's what everyone online knows me as, I've been looking for a while at some new ideas for a name and kind of have it narrowed down to two names.
The first 'Kaenshiroi' is a semi-tribute to one of the first anime series I ever got into (Ronin Warriors / Samurai Troopers). The trouble with this name is that this one is a bit longer than I was originally wanting and also is still kinda geeky-nerdy. It's better than what I have now (Fenryr_Ookami, Shiroi Ookami, or Ookami-Shiroi) certainly, but maybe something a bit shorter would work.
The other name I came up with was 'Raishiroi'. It's about as short as I can get it without dropping the 'Shiroi' from my name, but it doesn't really mean anything aside from the fact that it sounds Japanese, lol.
So anyway, comments would be welcome for this! Thanks guys!
Now onto Con business!
Since I never actually bothered to look at the darn calendar when I was making plans for A-Kon, I didn't realize that the con was on Memorial Day Weekend. This normally wouldn't be much of a problem except for the fact that the friends I was planning on going with all work for retail stores, and are scheduled to work for the entire weekend. So at this point, it looks like A-Kon is a no-go. This is fine with me at this point, since I doubted that I would be able to get Link finished in time. He still needs the wig and the leather for his arm guards as well as his boots, and right now I don't think I would be able to get those in time.
No real worries though, A-Kon is a long drive from here and is usually really crowded from what I've heard so it's probably a good thing I didn't go. Plus I really needed to save money anyway since school basically drained me financially. There's always next year and I doubt that they'll suddenly cancel one of the oldest and largest cons in the country.
With one down, there are still two much for feasible cons that I can make this year: AniMix (an actual anime AND gaming con) is about 2hrs away, and San-Japan is maybe 45 minutes away so both of these should prove to be a blast!
Check out last year's AniMix (which I didn't know about until after it was over lol)
