So where's the line now?

A woman and her 12-13 year old daughter came into the store yesterday. The woman comes up to me and asked if we sale spanish movies. I proceed to show her where she can find any spanish movies that she'd like to rent or buy. After a couple minutes it's obvious that she isn't finding whatever she's looking for. She tells me that she's trying to find ( Read more... )

*chuckle* I guess I'm worse - I ask my husband to buy me hentai... cutelildrow December 27 2005, 20:51:15 UTC
It all just depends on how open your family is about that sort of thing.

I recently asked Rune to get the hentai DVDs Words Worth, because I'm tired of trying to find semidecent hentai by scrolling through my brothers' collections.

And occasionally, I do ask my brothers "hey, if you get any hentai (as opposed to live action porn, which I hate coz its fugly as hell and if I were a guy I wouldn't screw the girls starring in them) copy it to my PC please?"

When stumped for presents for my Dad, we just get him a Playboy magazine, if one is available for purchase.

We also have access to my Dad's collection of Playboy and Penthouse, and while we were in Paris he got my brothers hentai videos as a random gift. His only comment is 'why do you guys like that over real girls?'

The three of us answered "At least the girls and the guys don't look disgusting."

Mom regularly teases about teh pr0n to the rest of us. She also got Ogenki Clinic manga for me, because it's funny as hell.

To us, porn/hentai = fact of life, especially if it's just plain ol' vanilla porn with lame plot. It's not a big deal. We can ask each other to see if (insert hentai here) is available, can you get it for me? To adopt a different, prissier attitude about the whole thing will only make it seem like it's dirty, instead of something that's normal, that happens. Also, this way we're quite aware of each others' sexual preferences being normal - no sick fetishes for feces or animals or menstrual blood.

Mind, we have made it very clear that this is the attitude of OUR family. Other families will have different views regarding porn/nudity/sex/what have you. Our porn/hentai does not get lent out, or leaves the house in any form or way.

Personally, I find that a lot healthier than proclaiming to the WORLD you don't like porn, but watch it anyway.

Maybe for that family, it's much the same? Think about it.

You are not worse and there is a difference. You are all adults. I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing porn/hentai between siblings and certainly not between a wife and her husband. I'm not ashamed of porn and I don't think that anyone should be. I just don't think that involving your pre-teen daughter in it(and considering the culture and the way things are around here, doing god knows what else to her.) is right.

Again, people shouldn't deny it. There's no reason to do so. I mean if a husband and his wife enjoy porn, more power to them. Why involve your pre-teen daughter in it though? It's true that these days she may have already gained knowledge ahead of her time but that really isn't an excuse. It may also just be cultural differences, but if I didn't know better a call to children and families probably would have him in jail and the child in a foster home by now. Again, I would never do that with the amount of evidence of misappropriations that I have and the experiences I've had in the past with the state. I just don't think what occured was right.
