The Long and Winding Road...

Feb 25, 2008 12:09

So I realize that it has been quite some time that I have made a post, much less a substantial one, but for whatever reason today seemed like the time to change that fact.

In general life is going exceedingly well.  I graduated from State and ended up deciding to take a year off before I went on to Grad School.  I ended up working at the Chick-fil-A that I had worked at since my (first) senior year just shy of full time.  I got a promotion (I now have to wear a tie to work) and was pretty much given the night time manager shift.  At the time I viewed this as a short term make a little money plan that I could walk away from when i went on the Grad School.  However, that all changed when the owner approached me about the possibility of making Chick-fil-A a career.  So at this point I've pretty much decided to make an effort at getting my own store in a 3-5 year time frame.  Pretty exciting stuff because the money is excellent and it's a good company that takes care of it's people.

As most if not all of you are aware Margaret and I got engaged in oct of last year.  The wedding will be in early 2009.  Planning is going well (well that's because Margaret is doing a fantastic job and I'm just nodding my head).  Despite being 7 hours apart I think we're doing exceptionally well relationship wise.  We just click and I can't imagine being with anyone else.

Otherwise, life is going well.  I've had an opportunity to get closer to Ron and Sarah than I had in the last couple of years which has been most excellent.  Margaret and I are both working at CBS this summer which proves to be an incredible summer.

On a humorous note, I am now a member of the NRA.  Now for those of you who are convinced this makes me an ultra-reactionary Republican (and I know you are out there) this isn't quite the case.  It's because of my position at camp.  The BSA requires that all rifle and shotgun merit badge counselors be NRA certified instructors and it proved to be much cheaper to be a member of the NRA and an instructor that simply to register as an instructor.  I find it hilarious because i'm one of the .0001% of NRA member who would even consider voting Democrat (though that is by no means a given considering Hillary and Obamalama...maybe I just won't vote).  I think I gave my mom a heart attack when i told her.

Well that pretty well sums up my existence up to this point.  Hope all is well with all of you in cyberland and I hope to hear from you soon.
