It's confirmed

My grandmother has confirmed with me that she has Ovarian cancer. They can't operate because it's too small or too far along or spreading. My uncle called me so now I'm totally not sure what's the case, only that she has the ovarian cancer and that she's going to have chemo/radition therapy. I'm totally freaked out and depressed. Look, I realize I might make you angry saying this, but there is no way that putting your life on hold is going to make your grandmother happy. Even if you move to Korea you can still support your grandmother from a distance - you can call her, or visit when you can, or send a card or whatever - and she will still know you love her and she will be proud of you for living your life and trying to find your happiness. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO FEEL GUILTY FOR TRYING TO BE HAPPY. Even if it is while she is dying in a hospital. And honey, even if she gets through this okay, and I hope she does - she really will have to die sometime, as painful as that is, and it's probably not going to be quick or pretty, because it's usually not. Make sure she knows you love her and are thinking about her, and then live your life, because that is really the best thing you could be doing. Especially since you are NOT happy or well-settled right now ( ... )

No I'm not angry. You're my best friend for a reason. You say what's on your mind. Maybe you were always stronger than you knew, back then and now ( ... )
