Is it a Korean Thang??

It's about a Korean lady who keeps persisting after failing the drivers test 775 times and seeing and hearing she said this:

"I believe you can achieve your goal if you persistently pursue it," she says. "So don't give up your dream, like me. Be strong and do your best."

I heard my mom saying similar sentiments as growing up. So I wonder if it's a Korean thing, that theory of shared memory. That all the years of occupation ingraining itself into the culture.. Not that's so bad. That whole pursuing dreams... It gives a positive spin to life.
Just a thought.
