As spring progressed, the nights started getting less and less chilly, giving place to warmer breezes, even though they couldn’t be compared to those of the southern countries. However, Matthew and Dominic were happy to stand on the bedroom’s balcony, sharing glasses of red wine and wet kisses.
“Are you trying to get me drunk, Mr. Bellamy?” Dominic joked, kissing Matt’s neck softly, his mouth even moister due to the drink.
“No, of course not. I want you sober... Are you saying you can’t handle a couple of wine glasses?”
“A couple?!” Dominic exclaimed, leaning up to look into Matt’s eyes.
“Okay... a couple of bottles. For us both!”
“That’s better.”
Another open mouthed kiss was shared, their tongues entwining in an already familiar rhythm. Taking advantage of the situation, Dominic took the glass from Matt’s hand, putting it down on the large handrail. Subtly, or at least he hoped so, Dominic pushed the brunet back into the bedroom, not breaking the kiss, until the backs of his knees hit the bed.
“Tricky Dominic!” Matt giggled when they parted. “Quite eager, aren’t you?”
“Of course! I had to behave through an entire dinner with your son...” he joked, not quite getting the effect such sentence would have on Matt until he saw his face falling.
“What? Dominic-“
“Shit, I didn’t mean it like that, you know that,” the blond pleaded searching Matt’s eyes when he looked down.
“Dominic, I...”
“Listen,” the blond started, lifting Matt’s shin up, “you know I didn’t mean it like that. You were there, you know I had a good time and I realised that my fears made no sense.”
“I know...” Matt sighed, his lips curling slightly upwards. “I was being stupid sorry...”
“There’s nothing to feel sorry for; come here.”
And just like that the little awkward moment was gone. Dominic wrapped his arms around the brunet’s waist as they kissed, pushing him back until he was sitting on the bed.
“Tell me what you want gorgeous man,” Dominic purred, kneeling on the floor in front of Matt, his hands on the brunet’s hips. “Tell me how you want me tonight...” He continued, in a seducing voice, leaning forward to kiss Matt’s knee, even though it was still covered by his grey trousers.
“I want everything. Everything you can give.”

At first Dominic wasn’t sure what had pulled him from his peaceful sleep. Grumbling, he turned around, hoping that he could fall back into the world of dreams. As he opened his eyes he was greet with the sight of Matthew, still fast asleep, lips slightly parted and half of his face hidden by his pillow. He was lying on his stomach with his hands tucked underneath the pillow so it was a little difficult for Dominic to get as close as he wanted. He couldn’t help placing a hand over Matt’s bare back; it always amazed him how soft his skin was so he couldn’t help caressing it, running the tips of his fingers up and down the appealing pale expanse.
Eventually, the caress, especially when Dominic used the tips of his fingers, made Matt slip slowly into consciousness. He groaned softly, his features contorting almost imperceptibly which made Dominic grin. A heavy sigh left his lips and he finally opened his eyes, letting them adjust to a smiling blond.
“You woke me up,” he mumbled, closing his eyes again and burying his face in the warm pillow.
“I did. Good morning!” he chuckled, leaning forward to kiss dark messy hair. “I just woke up out of nothing and now I realised I’m just very hungry...”
Facing Dominic again, Matt frowned. “You know where the fridge is.”
“Well, I didn’t want to wander in a house that is not mine... And, quite honestly, I’m not sure what to say to Gabriel if I see him... You know what I mean? After all it’s the first time I’m spending the night here.”
Matt chuckled sleepily, turning on his side. “He’s at Chris’, don’t worry,” he yawned before smiling with eyes half closed.
“Okay then. Do you want me to bring you something?”
“No... But I want you to come back quickly.”
Smiling, Dominic leaned forward for a lazy morning kiss that was interrupted by the turmoil in his stomach. “Ugh! Go and eat something, that sound is definitely a turnoff...” Matt laughed throatily.
“Yes, your majesty. I’ll bring you something, anyway.”
After one last peck, Dominic got out of bed, grabbing his boxers on the way, just in case. To say that he already felt comfortable in that house would be a complete lie, but he decided not to worry about it. They were together for almost three months, but suddenly, everything felt extremely new to him. However, to his own surprise, everything also felt right.
His high spirits made him whistle as he descended the stairs and padded to the kitchen, immediately opening the fridge to see what he could attack. After all, a night like the one he just spent with Matt was bound to make his energies go down to a very low level. Grabbing the bacon, he proceeded to cut it in small pieces, already eyeing the bread on top of the table that would turn into fantastic toasts. He was so caught up in his task that he didn’t hear the footsteps coming from out of the kitchen and getting closer and closer until he heard a familiar voice.
“Dad, can I- oh! I’m sorry...”
Startled, Dominic turned around to face a wide eyed Gabriel standing by the open door. He tensed immediately and placed the knife down, stopping what he was doing.
“Hey, good morning!” He was trying to sound as casual as he could, unfortunately, it didn’t come out as carefree as he wanted and the intuitive teenager got the message.
“Sorry... I thought it was my dad,” Gabriel muttered, his hand fidgeting with the end of his sleeve in a protective manner.
“That’s all right. He doesn’t know you’re home, though...” Dominic continued, tilting his head to the side. After the initial shock, he suddenly realised that something was bothering Gabriel... a lot. His eyes were reddish and it seemed like he hadn’t sleep that much.
“I know, I was supposed to sleep at Chris’ but I asked him to leave me home last night.”
“Oh... Is everything all right?”
“Yeah!” Gabriel said, almost too quickly, trying hard to smile. “I’m going to my room, don’t bother with me,” he said turning around. However, Dominic felt like he needed to do something.
“Gabriel, wait.” With a sigh, he turned around, but didn’t look at Dominic in the eye. “Your father is awake, you can go and talk to him...”
“No! I’m fine, really... I’ll talk to him later.” That time he didn’t give Dominic the chance to call him back as he retreated quickly, going up to his bedroom.
“That stubbornness... It’s quite easy to see from whom he inherited it,” he muttered to himself.
He continued his task, but even though he still intended to bring that breakfast to the bedroom to share it with his lover, his conscience was yelling at him to tell Matt that his son was at home and, especially, that he wasn’t all right. With that thought in mind, he put the bacon, the toasts and the orange juice on a tray and proceeded to Matt’s bedroom.
The sculptor was still half asleep lying on his side, but he opened his eyes when he felt the bed dipping as Dominic sat on it.
“What a nice maid you are...” he mumbled in a deep voice, tinted with sleep and laziness.
“Jerk. I bring you breakfast in bed and you mock me,” Dominic sighed shaking his head playfully.
Laughing throatily, Matt managed to sit up as he glanced at the tray that was on the bedside table. “Where’s the red rose?” He teased.
“Stop being a fuss, will you?”
Winking, Matt leaned forward to seize Dominic’s lips in a short but enthusiastic kiss. “Thank you,” he whispered against those full lips he was so fond of.
It was Dominic’s turn to wink and peck his lover. Even though the thought of spending as much time as possible in that relaxed atmosphere, Dominic knew he needed to say something
“Well, there is something I need to tell you first.”
“You sound serious...” Matt frowned, leaning back to observe the blond’s expression.
“Well, firstly, Gabriel is here.”
“Huh? He was supposed to spend the night-“
“I know, but he spent the night here, Chris dropped him by. He thought it was you in the kitchen so just appeared there.”
“Strange...” Scratching his head, Matt tried to remember if he misunderstood something on the previous night, until Dominic clarified his thoughts somehow.
“Something’s up with him.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m not sure, I barely know your son, but... there was definitely something bothering him. And I think he had been crying?”
That caught Matt by surprise and truly made him worry. “Crying? But he rarely cries, only if it’s something really big... And even so...”
“Well... maybe his eyes were just heavy with sleep, I could be mistaken. But you should definitely check on him.”
“Yeah, you-“
“I’ll be fine. And don’t worry, I won’t eat all this deliciousness,” Dominic grinned.
“You better not!"
