February Recs [better four months late in this life than four minutes early in the next]

[Didn't mean to leave off up dating quite this long, but we all know how serious life gets sometimes. I'm actually here to squee about Sense8, but discovered a half finished recs post in the memory banks, so that first ...]

oldtoadwoman wrote Old Muppets Never Die which is the first Muppert fanfic I've ever read but more importantly it's also delightful.

The Course of Honor by Avoliot
A slow burn, original fiction about an arranged marriage between space princes. I'm not sure how I stumbled on this one, but I was pretty much hooked from the first line and loved the whole ride. Fantastic world building and truly wonderful characterization. I'm sure I'll read it again.

The Color of the Sea by prpl_pen
Female Artist/Mermaid, original work. A super lovely story in which a curious mermaid befriends and lighthouse keeper and his artistic daughter.

The Mystery of the Polyglot Diva by categranger
Also an original F/F work. If you're an opera fan I'm sure this is especially delightful, but I promise a lack of knowledge or particular interest in opera is no barrier to enjoying this charming story about opera divas in love, with it's warm and amusing epistolary elements which are worked in really well.

True Love by platonic_boner
Merlin--Arthur/Merlin. I don't know why I keep insisting I don't like soulmate AUs, because I keep stumbling across ones I love. This one had me chortling the whole way through -- they can't lie to each other.

Hidden Depths by Susannah_shepherd
ACD--Holmes/Watson Beautifully bittersweet hurt/comfort.

The Gardeners by suitesamba
HP--Severus/Harry It's a long time since they were school boy and school teacher, fated hero and loathed spy, but Snape's up to something so of course Harry has to find out what. Clever and so much fun!
