It's my first post, so be prepared for a lot of blather.
Wow, I've had this experience with other projects, but I didn't know vidding would make it so intense. I get so involved in a project that I literally do not care about anything else and can barely think about anything else. Time just stops while I work on it. So this vid ate my brain for about three days, at the end of which it was done. Three days is pretty good time for such intensity. I don't know if I could have maintained it if it had been any more prolonged. (I got kinda trippy making this one: "The vacuum cleaner is his honor! He has it until he sees Victoria and then it's goooone. It's white and sucky like his honor too!")
It is a "Victoria's Secret" vid, because, while I do have, like any other shipper, the ambition to make the One True F/K vid, that would take a lot of work and sorting through clips and energy that I thought that I just did not have. Also, I didn't have an F/K song. I had a Victoria song all ready and the vid somewhat planned out. (I was planning out vids long before I got the software to make them. In fact, most of my other plans were more complete than the one for "Black Black Heart.") With "Victoria's Secret," I could conceivably watch the eps as well and find new clips that fit other than the ones I remembered and had written in the plan. This would take too long to do with the entire 3/4 season. grrr.
I was learning Premiere as I vidded this, so no fancy shmancy special effects for me this time! (What? Crossfade? Pshaw.) If anyone has any suparspecial song ideas for anyone in due South, send them over and maybe they'll inspire me! I wish something would, because I have many elaborate vidding plans, but so far not enough motivation to hunt for the clips in the plans even though the source eps are *two feet away*.
I feel like I've pretty much gotten vidding out of my system for awhile. I can't even watch this vid anymore. It bores me and seems much too obnoxiously self-satisfied in its maudlinness. But I still do have tons of ideas and am eager to make more due south vids. The dearth of vids in this fandom has really appalled me, and, while I have other ideas for shows like Highlander, I don't have the source material readily accessible and digitalized, whereas with due south, I have the entire series on my computer. Convenient, eh?
