FOR THOSE WHO SAY THEY 'HATE' KIRITO (as a person) JUST BECAUSE OF HIS SOLO CAREER this rant is so getting it's own postwe start off with rhetorical questions
( Read more... )
2) Like I've said at another of your posts at LJ... I don't exactly blame Kirito. But all the circunstamces together. The company/label... And I also don't like when PIERROT does that ((But as I said, it kinda happens to most artists ~ With some more than with others)) Kirito is also being cover of most magazines out there. Too many! It's not normal. It's too much "selling by image". I didn't comment that before because it's also usual with major musicians. But again, with some more than with others. With Miyavi and Gackr, for example, witch I consider "sold out" artist... It happens a lot. They are in almost all magazines. Image... Image... No music.
3) I don't care If it's an act of if it's not. He created it. And I love that character. No matter it's real Kirito or not. He can't just simply kill that character when there are tons of people that love it. If, from the start, he wantes to smile and be himself.... Why did he create such a character? If he have done it until now, it's almost an obligation to keep acting.
If what he wanted was mixing songs. Why did he do such a photoshoot album? A big and expensive one, actually. Not a coincidence. It was also part of his plans...
From Neogrotesque you can see a VERY HARSH critique about that 'lesbians-love'.... Or do you think they are wearing nurses' uniforms with no reason? Match nurses' uniform and hot lesbians and you get any Usa guy's dream. Kirito was criticizing ~ Heeelllo?!
At Yuuyami Suicide, you also have a gay couple and a masohyst couple.
I'm not saying Smells like teen spirits is not a good song. I, myself, like it. But Kirito would usually say they should love Japanese music better than western. Not that I have ever thought he "hate" western music. I even read an interview where he would say western bands he likes. But, onstage, he used to "act" only for-Japanese music. Yes. Race does not judge muscial ability, I'm not saying that. Never did. I'm just saying Kirito used to say that teenagers should give more credit to Japanese music/musicians... To love their own country music. When he hires western musicians or goes to USA to mis his songs, he is indeed putting western/american characteristis to his music. Not that "rock" itself was Japanese. It's Brittish ~ I know. No need to tell me that xD! But he's each time giving more and more western aspects to it. Instead of doing what he have said before, witch is "making it Japanese-like".
((Right now I remembered Kagrra ~ and their "neojapanesque" movement))
No need to sorry yourself. It's a discussion. All good discussion is welcome <3 I'm not taking it as an offense. And I hope you're not doing it either.
I think I have reasons enought to hate his solo career (not him). And if it was his "dream"... Why did he "waste" 10 years with PIERROT?
PLEASE do NOT misunderstand my last sentence !!!!! I was IRONIC!!!! ~ I am NOT saying, in any ciscunstances, that I think Kirito does not consider PIERROT. I KNOW HE DOES! That's exactly why I was sarcastic/ironic.
PIERROT means a lot to him... As he have said tons of times. So... It is only natural to me to think PIERROT, since the indies times, was his dream. Isn't it?
When you say the solo career is his dream. It looks like PIERROT was never that loved by Kirito. It seems he was only waiting the right time to do a solo career. But he loves PIERROT... we know. That's why I don't think the solo career is a "dream". I don't like to see treat it as if it was.
2. well, if you look, he's only been on the covers of 'rock' magazines. FOOL'S MATE and ultra veat both are magazines in which PIERROT appears very often (so it's natural that he appears on them too). in order for magazines to sell, they need to cover the most popular artists. plus, Kirito doesn't just do photoshoots. more often than not, he writes his own articles in the magazines (shiko kairo and THE PAST OF CONFUSION are both compilations of his articles on various things like advice columns and his own editorials) even if it isn't music, I still say Kirito's literature is a part of himself, and it shows he is working at things other than his appearance
3. I suppose I can't say anything if you don't like the solo-tour Kirito, and I'm not trying to make you love him. dictator Kirito smiles too. not as often as solo-Kirito, but he still smiles often enough to be labeled a 'dork'... I suppose you are right about him planning on that photoshoot. it's not exactly wrong to want to take photos in a beautiful city right? as far as I can see, the only way you can tell he's taking photos in America is the fact that there's English signs and American people. otherwise, it looks like any other urban centre. but the fact that it was shot in USA probably attracts buyers who have never been there. you're probably going to say this is going to be another point to your 'sold out' theory? I have to agree ^^U
I'm not saying Kirito is supporting lesbianism. you just said it yourself: hot lesbians...Kirito was criticizing ~ Heeelllo?!
if Kirito wore a gay shirt, there's no telling if people will get the wrong impressions and think he's looking for men (XD; even though he is probably gay)
if Kirito said they should love Japanese music more than Western, then I'd say he's being racist. I think he just wants the crowd to pay more attention to Japanese-produced music and give it a chance instead of blindly following after Western stars only for their popularity
and about the Western guitarist and bassist: keep in mind that KIRITO wrote the music. the Western musicians are just there to play what Kirito has written for them. if you read the credits in his album, the entire recording crew (guitars, keyboards, bass, effects) is Japanese. meaning his solo music is at least originally Japanese-made. Universal Music (PIERROT's former label) is based in the United States - so if Kirito mixing his music in America means he's making his music 'Western', then PIERROT's music must be 'Western' too - yet we still love it. also, 'mixing' the music doesn't necessarily mean changing it. it just means putting the different parts together (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, etc. are all recorded separately in the studios when compiling an album) and thus no recorded music (by the all-Japanese recording members) is changed. Kirito plays guitar in all of his solo album songs. if there really was a difference between the ways Americans and Japanese 'mix' their music, then I have nothing to say.
(I never knew rock was British XD;)
I'm not saying solo career's been Kirito's only dream! his band is very important to him, but we can all see that he's a very independant person. maybe that's why he wants to explore new kinds of music by himself? but wait! maybe we should reword it and say his solo career is his 'ambition'. as a side-project while he continues on with the dream called PIERROT. one person isn't limited to one dream right? and his PIERROT dream has come true (and continues to be)
Actually I really really really don't wanna barge in to your guys conversation but fenixsuzaku motivated me to unscratch the thoughts what I wanted to say so I'm gonna try. but you know what happens when you scratch something once and then try to understand it
But I think my main point was the 3rd statement. It's always good to discuss about other persons life. But you should also consider leaving a hint that you care whether the person had a real reason to 'act' dictator way and why 'stopped' doing it. It's deeper topic and you should take under-advisement about it. Perhaps you'll understand what I'm trying to say. ^____^ Ok. /end of this stupid spampost. I lost my energy
