TRAINING TRIP...

Jan 12, 2004 18:09

It's been quite a while since I last updated. I'm currently back at school, and living in the senior apartments while on Swim Team Training Trip. That's an adventure in itself. Since Christmas most of my time was spent working at the good old MB (Market Basket). Other than work, I pretty much spent my time with friends, I did alot of swimming, and other than that my vacation, although short, was very relaxing.

Now that I am back at school however, life is starting to pick back up. Training Trip is really intense...For instance, do you know what -1 degree feels like? If you answered YES to this question, you're a fucking liar. As many of you may recall Saturday was extremely cold. Well, that didn't stop the BSC Swim Team from running out asses off in the bitter cold. HYPOTHERMIA - Bring It On! HAHA...To be honest it fucking sucked bad. You know, let me give all of you out there in Live Journal Land a little play by play, on how bad Training Trip is, in and out of the pool.

DAY 1:
Friday January 9th -
First Swim Practice begins at 8 a.m. So that means I'm awake and leaving by about 6:15 a.m. That's right, while most of you were still comfortably nestled in your beds I was awake, and driving to Swim Practice.
Our second Swim Practice began promptly at 3 p.m. With an hour of Dry-Lands, and then 2 hours of Swimming. It was pretty bad considering I didn't do much intensive working out over break.
On another note, the dorm rooms are really cold, the thermostat says the heat is on...but I have my doubts. Also Brett has a check for the team's "Meal Money" but he has yet to cash it...Fucker, we're hungry.

DAY 2:
Saturday January 10th -
First Practice consisted of a 3-4 mile run in the bitter cold. Yeah, it was -1 degree out. Bitches you don't know cold!
Second Practice was a nice 2 and a half hour swim. Over 7000 yards. It was great...I'm lying.
Also, the rooms are still very cold. By this point most of the team had bitched about the lack of heat. The RD promised the team that "the heat is on". I think that fat bitch is a liar. And Brett still hasn't given us shit to get food with...good thing I brought shit with me...goddamn.

DAY 3:
Sunday January 11th -
Brett informed the team that if the Patriots win, which they did, there will be no A.M. Practice. Thank God for the Pats. The team got that morning off. Afternoon Practice was another hour of Dry-Lands, and 2 hours of swimming. Dry-Lands went by rather quickly, Flex and I just made fun of everyone and everything...it was rather amusing.
The heat finally feels as though it's working. And Brett promised that the "Meal Money" is on the way. Things are looking up.

DAY 4:
Monday January 12th -
Today was probably the worst day yet. This morning the Team had to be up for an 8 a.m. run. The boys ran about 4-5 miles (in the fucking snow) while the girls, lead by good for nothing Coach Steve did a slight jog workout, and then they just fucked around. The boys ran, did sprints, and even crawled the length of the football field. That's right, we got down on all fours, and with no gloves crawled the length of the field...FUCK!
Practice number two was pretty bad, 1500 warm-up, then SPRINTS! It was pretty brutal. I got 0:31.2 for most of my 50's, and I figure with all the working out I have been doing lately, that ain't to damn bad.
He's the fucking Cake-taker though...BSC is in dire need of some fucking common sense. Good God! Kevin, a senior on the team wakes up to find over an inch of water in his room...Why is there a flood you ask? Well...Bridgewater State College thought it best to NOT turn the heat on right away...Did they honestly think that the entire Swim Team could just go without it for 10 days...So after our incessent bitching, they crank the heat up...and this causes the water pipes (which froze over during winter break) to rupture. Yes folks, the water pipes in Kevin's room burst. And then this afternoon, the apartment under mine suffered the same fate...WHAT THE FUCK?????????????

If I wasn't so goddamn tired I'd be flipping out right now, absolutely pulling a mental. Felicia, tell mom about all this...She needs to write a stern letter! Anyway, that pretty much covers all the goings on at BSC Swim Team Training Trip '04!

I miss you NP, and EJ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of Luck to the LHS SWIM TEAM this season. LANE 1 ALL-STARS MAKE ME PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
