Happy Independence Day!
So, it was a good Independence Day. Carter held the BBQ over at his place (The Ultimate Party Pad) this year.
Hen and I brought over the steaks, sangria, and a totally cheesy "Wave Your Flag" Cheesecake.
The steaks were well-marbled porterhouses, which we got at Ralphs after finding really crappy t-bones at Sam's Club and Vons. This yet again reinforces my hypothesis that Ralphs is clearly better than Vons. At least in La Canada. Collin.
Anyway, good times and good friends were to be had. Steph's snacky-snacks whetted our appetite, and Carter's master steak and corn grillin' satisfied our bellies.
After the feast, we went over the Citrus College to enjoy their fireworks display. Watching fireworks is one thing, but having a kid around who really gets a kick out of watching them is a whole different experience. It's always more fun to have Fletch around at events like that - it reminds you of how cool those things were when you were a kid. Thanks, kiddo.
Anyway, after the show, we headed back to the pad and got some killy-kill goin' on. I *think* I'm getting better at the halo-age, but when my 9 or 10 kills are compared to infide's(or ek's or killroy's or defhyfes') 30 or more kills, it can't help but be depressing... Oh well, as they say, practice makes perfect, right?
Aside from the hangover that set in around 9:00pm that night, I'd have to say it was quite a fun celebration.
