I'm not seeing a lot about this on my friends list, but if you or anyone you know lives in the Gulf coast near Louisiana, they need to be preparing for evacuation. Gustav is bearing down hard on the Louisiana coast, and it looks like Katrina redux. It may even be worse than Katrina for New Orleans, if the track shifts even 10% east. (The strongest winds in a hurricane are usually in the Northeast quadrant, where the winds are blowing in the same direction as the motion of the hurricane) I worry too that many people are heading to Houston, and it's definitely possible that Gustav could turn west sometime in the next 3 days. Inland is really the only safe place to be.
