Next week needs to come like now, and I need to move to the UK so I can see it when it actually airs and not several hours later because OMG AWESOME! Oh Donna, why are you so kick ass? BAD WOLF!

I finally got to see it, holy smokes! That was a really good episode! Not just as a concept, and as a set-up for the finale episodes, but as a character piece for Donna and a really thorough look at the reality of refugee life and horrors of history repeating that I was so glad to see presented to children. Especially in the UK we have a massive refugee and immigration population, and so many people never get a glimpse of how easily it could be anybody moving to a new place to set up a life, or being forced from their own home overnight. The way that was handled, and how quickly it all sank into horror was very good television, and a fantastic thing for kids to watch and understand.

Donna, yes, she is THE KICKEST OF ASSES. And ROSE! ROSE was just... different and sad, but was still Rose without being the clone of the Doctor her mother was so afraid she'd turn into

It was an amazing episode for Donna, and to see in what ways she'd differ if she'd never met the Doctor. She's still Donna but a much lesser one. But she still manages to find her inner hero even without him toward the end. Everything with the refugees was just heartbreaking, especially when Wilf was saying goodbye to that man they stayed with when his family was sent to a labor camp. The whole alternate world was just so sad, what with Martha, Sarah Jane, the remaining Torchwood all dying, trying to continue on in the Doctor's place. Well except Martha technically never meets him but was still awesome
