1. Work is going very well in general. I'm down in bindery, where we cut, perforate, pad, pack, glue and print things. I really like cutting things. It's all calculation and percision. Oh! And we shrink wrap things, too.
2. Oh, I broke the knife. Larry was showing me how to remove the guard and I gouged a big hole in the blade. Luckily that does happen on occaision and Doug just replaced it. No one was angry, but it makes me nervous to have damaged property.
3. The staff party (read: night of drunkeness) is on the fifth. I went last year and I plan on attending this year, as well, but I don't drink. So, instead, I get to be the only lucid person amongst my various co-workers and superiors. I'd say "blackmail," but I'm too nice for that.
4. Have been all over Charlottetown. Last year, as some of you may vaguely recall, I did plenty of nothing outside work hours. This year I am even having dnner out!
5. My aunt's cat hates me.
6. My cousin Marshall ( 1 year old) is adorable!
7. They have finally started some new radio stations on PEI. I only care because the radio is on all day at work and last year Magic100 played the same repetoire every day. Today, the new rock station played a song which consisted of the artist saying "I am a heterosexual man" over and over ad nauseum. Somehow, I don't believe him.
8. My co-workers are very single-minded. I've been here about two weeks and already several breaks have been filled with discussion of the oddest topic: sexuality. This ranges from commentary on the recent Gay Pride Parade, light-hearted jokes suggesting Lee and Larry are flirting, suspicion that Doug's wife may be bisexual (when Doug is not present), to mentions of a gay wedding Jeremey will be unable to attend due to schedueling conflicts. Today Joann asked if male couples "do it both ways." Umm. There was much awkward debate concerning positions. I almost accidentally answered a few questions, but what was I supposed to say when they asked me how I knew? "Oh, I read a lot of gay porn?" Yeah, right.
9. On my fifth book thus far this summer. Finished Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, finally. It really was just as good as people say. Well worth the 1006 pages :-) Also, Kraken Wakes was not my favourite Wyndham novel, but still good. And I finished it two days before seeing Pirates of the Carribbean. (That will make sense to people who have seen the film)
10. Saw PotC, as I mentioned. Would like to see Lady in the Water and Snakes on a Plane.
11. Am going to bed now. Night!
