Somewhat stressful
Guess who needs to buy a new laptop? I need to buy a new laptop.
Staples just phoned to inform me that the laptop I bought in 2008, which I sent in for servicing two weeks ago, was beyond repair and that, according to the depreciated value of said laptop, they will be sending me a $500.00 cheque in compensation.
Sigh.
I have almost everything on that laptop backed up on my external harddrive, so I'm okay on that front. In fact, last time I sent that laptop in for repairs, it came back with the harddrive wiped (and I didn't have any back ups then). But two years? Really? And now I have to go through the process of buying a new one.
Anyone have high praise for a particular brand of laptop? I probably won't be buying one from Acer again, what with the huge dud I got last time, but any recommendations will be helpful.
