Happy February!

(Mini-poll! How do you pronounce February? I pronounce the first r, myself.)

So, I watched the film Rage yesterday. I originally heard about it via one of the new Sherlock Holmes communities that have popped up recently, when a user posted some icons of Jude Law's character. Then I decided to look it up and, lo! It turns out that Eddie Izzard is in it, too. Obviously I was going to see it.

In case you were wondering why Jude Law's character caught my eye, here you are:

Meet Minx. She's a supermodel. I want her hair.

Rage is shown through a series of interviews with various members of a single company: the models, owner, manager, etc., of a fashion house in New York. I really liked this perspective (even if it frustrated me at times - what happened? Who did they . . . ? But why?) and how the story has to build up through, if you'll pardon the pun, such a narrow lens. It's also very visually appealing. If you notice the picture of Minx has a solid red background? That's a screencap. The colours change for each person and often complements them quite nicely.

This film is a dramedy, which mostly means that it gets to be funny up until the plot starts, and then it's very srs bzns. This isn't unappealingly abrupt, I thought, and I was genuinely interested in the story. Eddie Izzard's character is just the sort of character I enjoy seeing him play (morally dubious), Jude Law does a Russian accent, and Judi Dench is a tough cookie. All in all, I was thoroughly entertained.

Also, Lily Cole's hair is TO DIE FOR in this. I knew I had a thing for hair, but I couldn't stop thinking about it during this movie. Too much fabulous hair to handle.
