After quite a lot hemming and hawing, we decided to do the responsible mature adult thing and skip Dragon*Con this year. We could have afforded it, but by not going, we'll have more money to spend enjoying our trip to Texas in a few months that's supposed to be our real vacation this year. The T shirt is a really good idea to encourage people to donate.

Oh yeah, especially at a SF&F convention. San Diego Comic Con also gives out t-shirts (I used to donate there when I went), but they were never quite as cool as the ones at Dragon*Con.

Houston area to start with... there's a Geocaching event there (Space City GeoCoinFest) and then we're not sure... probably up to Austin, at some point. I think we've got just over a week, with the Geocaching event being one day. I've only ever been to Texas once before and that was the real quick trip earlier this year for a memorial for a friend and rackham has never been to Texas.

Ahh ok! A week is enough to see Houston & environs - maybe Austin too? I'd suggest San Antonio & Riverwalk area. :)
