A fencing practice at last!

Despite a badly impinged nerve cluster numbing and weakening my shoulder, practice was awesome last night. I SO needed to cross blades with our rogues gallery of superb fencers. Lost a good number of touches fighting left handed and trying out styles that took some of the pressure off my shoulder, but it was still just awesome to do! I love our fencers to pieces!!

Archery wasn't too bad- nothing tweaks my shoulder like pulling my bow, but I was still able to get some reasonable groupings before the pain got too bad. 30 min of practice is a good stretch for me, and enough to get my focus going. Our Winter shoot targets are very small, so all the other archers are dropping points right now, but I know they'll focus in after a few more weeks of this. I still have to determine if I am interested in competing in the Badger State Games this year. I want to, but I worry. If my shoulder doesn't shape up before too long I just won't have the time to refine my targeting- and there's precious few places I can practice with the high-tech balanced arrows I bought for that kind of competition... not sure there's a point if I'm going to perform poorly, and I don't want to get the surgery to correct the shoulder impingement unless I have no other choice. Its pretty invasive and the outcome may well make me ineligible for full contact martial arts to boot. :-(
