Reasons to get better

-Just got prescription swim goggles- hello spring swimming!

-Just got a new bow- perfect for Summer distance shoots. >50lbs at my draw length. Need to practice!

-Picked up great new heater and gauntlets for heavy fighting practice- still haven't tried them out!

-Son likes being outside- wants to hit water parks, rock climbing, swimming, hiking- can't wait!

-Currently single, but just might still have enough charm to get nearsighted ladies to go out on a date with me... hey, it could happen!

-Research is INCREDIBLY interesting. We have our sights on critical elements of the immune system that are particularly relevant to auto-immune function, as in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chrohn's Disease, etc. So many of my friends have waged life-long struggles against auto-immune malfunction... if I can make even a dent in the scientific mystery that surrounds it I will consider my life to have been well spent. If I can connect the dots with a theory that explains why the body responds this way, a unified theory of auto-immune disease, I will be the happiest little biochemist evar! I have to get better so I can hit these questions head on and pursue some of my characteristically wild-ass, iconoclastic ideas to their conclusion.

They say that proving theories that go against existing dogma takes a scientist who is both passionate about what he does and far too stupid to know that what he posits is impossible. I am, as my friends and co-workers will readily attest, that passionate about my research and, easily, that stupid! Rawr!
