TeniMyu senshuuraku live viewing report!!

Mar 14, 2010 21:54

Well, the senshuuraku live viewing of the Final Match Rikkai 2 just ended...and holy shit did it hurt a lot more than I thought it would ;_; I thought it'd be fine, it was just the second to last Myu, even if it was the last official one that would follow any sort of story line. I was so, so wrong ;_; THEY MADE THIS STUPID THING FEEL LIKE BURIMYU SENSHUURAKU GDI.

The theater I went to was, once again, Shinjuku Wald 9, though this time all of the screens weren't reserved for TeniMyu like last time, boo :P I was quite close in row G, but kind of off to the side. Still had a more than adequate view, though, and really--there are no bad seats since the whole thing is filmed from HQ cameras and streamed live to the theater. You get a better view than most of those actually present (provided you don't mind not being able to focus on who YOU want to focus on XD;)

The first sign that this show was anything out of the ordinary was the simultaneous shout when all of Seigaku ran on stage as the opening theme started: "Senshuuraku da! Arigatou!" ("It's senshuuraku! Thank you!!")

Probably one of the most memorable things of the whole show was the EARTHQUAKE that happened during the opening song XD;; According to Yahoo!Japan, it registered as a 3 in Tokyo, which doesn't cause any damage but definitely can be felt. Considering that we were 13 floors up, it was really freaky, because long after the actual shaking had stopped, the building still swayed, giving you the unearthly sensation of rocking from side to side for a good five to seven minutes after the shaking stopped @___@ Oh Japan...

Since it was senshuuraku (the final performance, if you didn't gather the meaning of the term :D), a lot of fun little adlibs worked their way into the show. One of the best: one scene has Nanjiroh riding a train to get to the finals to watch Seigaku's match. While riding there, a "lady" walks up and down the aisle selling bentous. At every show, Nanjiroh leans out of his little cart to flag her down, but is never successful. At senshuuraku, though, he finally managed to nab one, and promptly spent the rest of his scene trying to get it open and failing :D Oh Ueshima :P

In another example of senshuuraku fun, after intermission, Horio always has some short chat with one of the rivals, and today it was Fuji Yuuta, who was hurrying to be the first Rival to make it to Seigaku's courts (after helping Echizen get back his memories). However, he trips, and is quickly passed by all the others, who greet him in swift succession as "Otouto-kun" ("Little brother-kun") XDDDD Yuuta's heartbroken by the name, but at the end, Atobe calls on all the others to call him "Yuuta", and success :D Aww~~~~~

At the very end of the show, Echizen can be seen walking off (to head to America), but Tezuka stops him before he steps off, and then is joined by all the other cast members, who raise their rackets to him and shout, "Shoubu da!" ("It's a match!" <--said when challenging someone to a game of tennis), and then they all sing This is the Prince of Tennis. However, today, before Tezuka came on, Nanjiroh actually came on and had a "talk" with his son, asking him if he was glad he joined Seigaku, and if he'd had fun ;_; It was really touching ;____;

Ryuuki appeared to have a cold or be coming down with one, as throughout the show he would often have coughing fits, though this didn't affect his singing. I felt really bad, since the entire show was focused on Echizen, but was really impressed he held it together, and hey--at least now he can rest! :3

Being senshuuraku, there were of course a TON of tears. Tsuji, Shouta, and Toshi in particular were crybabies for the last 20 minutes of the show XD; Tsuji could be seen sniffling during the graduation ceremony and trying to mask it during the final Oishi and Eiji scene, and Toshi wrapped Ryuuki into a huge hug (very unscripted) sending them both into fits during the 5th cast ballad.

After the graduation scene, you always see how life at Seigaku is moving on, which involves Momo coming out and talking to the audience aka the new ichinensei XD He always does some cute little ad-libbing here when he comes on, and tonight...TONIGHT HE CAME ON SINGING Ore wa Momo-chan, complete with, "Po-po-powa! Hoho ga hoteru ze, pinku ni somaru~~~ Momomowa momoiro wa shouri no iiiiiro~ Sou ore wa Momo-chan! Momo-chaaaaan!" I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR HIM AND EIJI DUETTING THE SHIT OUT OF THAT SONG DAMMIT.

During the final bows, Shouta and Taito have been taking to doing simultaneous handsprings, since Shouta goes offstage as Taito comes on. It's always a pleasure to watch them bounce their little acrobatic butts around stage, but tonight was especially fun XD Shouta comes on, and then Taito after him, and then Tsuji after him--today, as Shouta and Taito were running off after their handsprings, Tsuji made like he was going to do one too, took his position, went down...and then rolled safely forward XDDDD KEEP TRYING, HONEY! At least he attempted it today? :D

After bows, the whole cast lined up on stage, and Ueshima-sensei gave the final stage greetings, thanking Konomi himself (who was in the audience) and the audience for an amazing 7 years. I actually hadn't expected them to treat this like the last because there's still DL7th in May, but I suppose because this was the end of the real musicals, the end of the storyline, it definitely merited some closure, and Ueshima-sensei spent some time talking about that.

For the final Seigaku ballad, the guys were really bawling, and that was about when I lost it, because they were just trying to hard to put on brave faces. But when Toshi walked over to Ryuuki, stood behind him, and wrapped his arms around him and just hugged for dear life, that was when it really got to me that they were only going to have a few more shows together and then...all over forever until they get invited back for DL16 or something

And if that hadn't started me, what came next sure as hell would have: During the opening strains of On My Way, on the big screen behind the stage were streamed images from every TeniMyu so far, from 1st cast's very first musical through St. Rudolph, Hyoutei, Rikkai, Higa, all the matches got acknowledged and it was like this is it, this is the culmination of TeniMyu ;_;

Seigaku and Rikkai come running on from opposite sides during FGKS, too, in the order of their matches, and do fun little things with their opponents (so Tezuka and Sanada run on, then Inui and Yanagi, then Kaidoh and Kirihara, etc.), and when Oishi came running on here, he JUMPED onto Jackals back and rode him piggyback off stage XD Then right after them, Eiji and Bunta ran on and did mirrored cartwheels because they are awesome XDDDDD Also awesome: Tezuka and Niou being the best camewhores ever during FGKS as well~~~~

Usually, the show is over after FGKS, but...well, it was senshuuraku. So they had every single player come back out, two by two, and give their final thoughts as pairs. This...was really really amazing to watch, because the guys had been given free reign, apparently, to be as in-character or out-of-character as they wanted; in short, they all slipped in and out of referring to each other by character name and by real name ;_; Most of the guys simply spoke about how happy they were to have met their character and gotten to be in TeniMyu, and then thanked everyone, but some who were good friends got really emotional when speaking ;_; Pairs were as follows:

Yuuta & Akutsu (Kenn and Juri)
Tanishi & Shinji (Matsuzaka and Futoda)
Shiraishi & Kintarou (Harukawa and Kido)
Atobe & Hiyoshi (Kubobe and Hosogai) - this was absolutely adorable, because they tried to stay in-character, and then at the end Kubota called him Kei, and Hosogai had the cutest confused expression :3
Kirihara & Yanagi (Genki and Yamaoki) - this made me almost cry because Yanagi was crying and saying how Genki-kun had helped him so much and sdfiuhsdifs ;___; I don't even care that much about the characters but god did it make me want to give them both big hugs ;_;
Marui & Jackal (Mio and Toda)
Niou & Yagyuu (Nakagauchi and Baba Tohru) - the thing I loved best about this was...how Nakagauchi made everyone stop for a minute and give a huge round of applause to 5th cast Seigaku (WHO WERE NOT EVEN ON STAGE, not to mention Sanada and Yukimura still hadn't come out and done THEIR bit yet wtf) for bringing them all this far and being just amazing sldfiushdfls Then they really cutely snagged each other's catch phrases to bid farewell :x
Sanada & Yukimura (Kanesaki and Masuda)
Ichinen Trio
Momoshiro & Kaidoh (Toshi and Akki) - god, Toshi almost couldn't do this. He literally had to take a moment to compose himself, and then made it really fast because otherwise he was going to start crying again ;_;
Inui & Kawamura (Ebo and Ikkou)
Golden Pair (Tsuji and Shouta) - OKAY OKAY SORRY GONNA HAVE TO BE A LITTLE SPAZZY AND OH MY GOD THIS MADE ME BAWL BECAUSE DATING OR NOT THESE TWO ARE JUST SO FUCKING CLOSE IT HURTS. Shouta was...really really having a hard time keeping himself together XD; They had very obviously planned on staying IC, and had made up a cute little exchange to pimp their event next weekend (they're having a talk event together next Saturday, just the two of them):

Eiji: "Oishi!"
Oishi: "Eiji!"
Eiji: "...When will I be able to see you again...?"
Oishi: *thinks* "....how about 6 days from now? :D"

That's how it was supposed to go, but Shouta had the hardest time getting his part out and it was just way too cute and sad XD;;; And then Tsuji, oh Tsuji--he had to go and say the following while staring dreamily at Shouta:

Tsuji: (on verge of tears) "If Kikumaru Eiji had not been Takasaki Shouta...I could not have made it through these past two years."
Shouta: (ABSOLUTELY AWESTRUCK...........LONG AWKWARD PAUSE) "...oh it's my turn now! I FEEL THE SAME WAY ;~~~~~~;"

Then they both were big sobby girls and ran off XDDDDD

Fuji & Tezuka (Taito and Baba) - I gotta say, it was actually hilarious the complete lack of TezuFuji chemistry they had at this point compared with the love and friendship and support T2 had just spilled all over the stage :P I usually thought Taito and Baba did a good job of playing up TezuFuji to a decent extent on stage, but here they were really professional and just did the basic "I'm glad I got to be in TeniMyu, thank you Baba-kun/Taito *bows*" XD;

And last but not least:

Nanjiroh & Ryoma (Ueshima and Ryuuki) - final thanks and greetings, and Ueshima going, "SEE YOU ALL IN YOKOHAMA IN MAY!!" :P

And that was it...! The last official storyline TeniMyu is over for the "first season," whatever that means ;_; We just have Dream Live 7th left, which is going to have a hell of a time topping this ;____;

In the meantime...OTSUKARE EVERYONE!!!
