Back in Action
Hello friends,
I know my updates are somewhat sparse, but I contend that the sheer amusement value packed into each update is more than worth the long waits in between. Actually, I never really feel like I have all that much spare time. I talk to most of my readers on line anyway so most folks who read this already know what is happening in my life.
This is kinda a stupid point, but my baby birds have hatched! I noticed when I got back from America that a bird had built a nest in my stove exhaust fan. Well judging by the peeping sound I hear in the morning the nest had eggs and the eggs have hatched. I can't see them or anything but it is good to know they are there.
I just got back from a seminar in Tokyo on that was on monday, tuesday and wednesday. I have to say that I really had a good time and enjoyed being there. On Monday I hung out with the ALTs from Shizuoka. We ate Shabu-Shabu and did Karaoke. I sang Iron Man, Wish You Were Here, Space Oddity, and a couple others too. Good fun. On Tuesday I made three new friends. I was invited out with a group by Brian, who then disapeared, so I was kind of alone with a bunch of folks I didn't know. I just kinda hung around and chatted and I ended up staying out with them for a while. It was a good time. They are Chritian, Paul and Roe. We went to Tokyo tower on Wednesday befor heading out. Huzzah for new friends!
The seminar was actually fairly inspiring and I am reinvigorated to teach and enjoy Japan. I have even started poking at Japanese again. I think I will also give Kendo a shot. I think Kendo would be fun. So that was pretty much the seminar.
Jimmy and Katie were up the weekend befor the semina. Once again good fun with friends. It is nice to not have to go anywhere on the weekend and just be at home with friends. It was a nice time.
I am kinda tired really, so I am gonna cut it kinda short. I am happy to say that my attitude is much better about my situation. I had been in a pretty big slump there for a while, but now I am ready to take advantage of what there is to offer here. w00t.
