Title: The Nicest Thing She's Ever Done
Fandom: Bad Girls / Absolutely Fabulous
Disclaimer: Neither show is mine.
Note: I am not British so sorry if my lingo is off a bit. I meant well.
Note 2: This is in response to my own challenge - Saffy in Larkhall Prison.
Note 3: Not sure about this one. Not my best work but I've had writers block and maybe now my muse will speak to me again.

THE NICEST THING SHE'S EVER DONE

Sometimes Saffy thought that getting her thrown in prison was the nicest thing her mother had ever done.

Her mother was drunk, and that was on her good days.

Edina Monsoon was not someone who should have a pet much less a child…..two children. She told that to Miss Stewart once. Miss Stewart who meant well but always seemed to run into people who didn't mean well. The meaner of the screws like Mr. Fenner and Bodybag.

Anyway, she had also tried to tell Miss Stewart that she hadn't been the one who had stolen those diamonds and burnt down that building, it was her mother and Patsy. Well mostly her mother. There was no way Patsy would ever let one of her cigarettes fall out of her mouth without moving heaven and earth to find it again.

Well the police didn’t believe her either. The diamonds were in her coat pocket right next to the pack of cigarettes.

Her mother had said nothing when the police came and arrested her. Patsy had only laughed and handed Edina a glass of vodka. Her mother hadn’t even shown up for her trial. (She had found out later that Patsy had gotten her mother drunk and then taken her to France.)

Five years she had gotten.

Five years in Larkhall prison in a cell with criminals like Shell Lockley and Denny Blood. Five years with thieves, drug addicts and prostitutes.

It was kinda like home.

A home where people where mostly nice to her. At least once she they realized she could take care of herself. There was Barbara, Nikki Yvonne and the two Julies who were real friends. They really liked her and she really liked them.

Once she figured out the rules things weren’t so bad. Actually, they were better then at home with her mother where there were no rules, only chaos. Saffy preferred the order of Larkhall Prison, well mostly anyway.

She did miss her freedom.

She didn't miss the loneliness,

She had friends here.

She had people who cared about her.

She had....Denny.

Saffy smiled as she kissed Denny Blood.

Yes, getting her thrown in prison was the nicest thing her mother had ever done.
