Check in #2 of the year! Wow. Hopw you've all been going well and doing some writing.

This update isn't compulsory, but we'd still love to hear from you! So, after last month's getting to know you questions, we'd like to follow on with a few more fic-based questions:
  • what was your first femslash paring?
  • What's your favourite trope to read/see and/ ( Read more... )

I fell for a couple canon lesbian characters before I really had a ship I cared much about, but Naomi/Emily in seasons 3 & 4 of the original UK version of Skins have to have been my first actual canon femslash ship that I was passionate about. I saw fanvideos about them and was so mesmerized by the actresses' beauty and the cinemetography and the passion vidders clearly had for them, and the emotion clearly evident in the characters' eyes... and the sweet way they kissed... I knew I'd adore them before I even got around to watching the show myself. :P

I began to realize I could fall for AU femslash slightly later, I'm pretty sure. :P

As for my favorite fic trope to read/create for, hmm, it's not fanfic specific but generally, idk if it counts as a trope, but the more canon-based something is, the more it's like a fix-it of continuity problems but relying heavily on someone knowing the canon inside and out and using lots of details from canon, the more I tend to enjoy it? Perhaps? Lol. Femslash or not, if you can explain a pairing by putting them into this kind of situation, I tend to love it.

I haven't started writing nor even properly outlining my fic for this big bang yet. Still really behind on my fic for the Small Fandoms Big Bang, which yay does have some femslash in it that I need to write right now lol. Mainly it's gen or het though. After the March 31st deadline for that I'll be more likely to dive into my story for this bang. I've been brainstorming, outlining-in-my-head kind of, and I have some ideas I'm excited to try to bring to life!
