It was a sunny morning on Wisteria Lane, and Bree lay awake in bed, a soft warm body covering her own, blonde hair mixing with her copper.
Her body was still, but her mind was working overtime. There were so many things she needed to do. It was already past eight and she hadn’t even gotten out of bed yet. She needed to bake a batch of muffins to take with her to the luncheon she was going to that afternoon. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in two days and had to be done. She had some new flowers that needed planted and a chair to reupholster. Not to mention her normal everyday chores.
But instead of doing any of that, she was just laying in bed. She knew she could get up, Lynette was a sound sleeper, (at least when she was at Bree’s house) but she didn’t want to get up. And that’s what bothered her most.
She had long ago quit asking God to forgive her for her affair with Lynette. She didn’t even feel guilty about it anymore. What she did feel guilty about was the deadly sin she was now committing. The sin of sloth.
