She watches her every day. She watches her as she goes from one lover to the next, always wearing the regality of the Goddess she claims to have never truly been. She watches her, and she remembers a day she fears she's forgotten. She remembers how she held close. She remembers how, for far too short a time, they were one.

She used to dream of those moments happening again. She used to think she might one day be able to wield the true power of the Storm. Time has forced her to accept the painful truth: the Goddess will never be hers.

But in the night, alone in her room, Rogue remembers again. She remembers and takes her Goddess once more into her arms. She revels in her kisses again, so fiery and passionate, beyond anything mere mortals can ever hope to grasp unless they have tasted the deity. She remembers, and she is hers once more.

She cries out from the pleasure of her dreams, and somewhere outside, a lightning bolt strikes the dark sky. Its strike is not random nor is it forgotten, much like the moment Rogue so cherishes, and that another, too, will remember forever.
