There are people who feel the need to always be indulging in tobacco; they feel pathetically naked and helpless without a cigarette in their mouths. There are those who reach for their smokes when they're with friends, while others use them for a clutch when angry, sad, or nervous.

Raven isn't like any of them, however. She has no one she cares to impress and fires out killing shots with her gun when she's pissed. She refuses to do sad or nervous and doesn't mind being naked. She smokes, instead of any of these others, to celebrate when she is actually, truthfully happy.

She'll toast a successful battle with a cigarette and champagne. She'll reach for a cigarette after great sex. But Raven can count the times she's had more than a single cigarette on three of her blue fingers. The first was when she met Irene, the second when they adopted Rogue. She smoked two in both of those occasions.

Tonight, however, she's already smoked two, and now she's reaching for a third. Emptied bottles of champagne litter the floor, and she'll have this whole pack smoked before the sun rises. She's naked, stretching leisurely against her beloved, and happier than she's ever before been. She hasn't beaten the X-Men -- they're still a pain in her side --, but something even better has happened. Irene told her tonight she loves her. Raven finishes the cig, then wakes her love with a passionate kiss. Tonight, they will celebrate all night long!

The End
