A bell tolled midnight as Donna's Scottish bloke extracted Helen's empty hypodermic from Donna's thigh.
"What was in this?" he demanded.
"Vampire blood."
"No such thing as vampires," Donna babbled. The glow around her intensified.
"Won't work," said the Doctor.
"I had to try," Helen said.
"It's not enough."
Helen refused to believe it.
"There must be a way," she said.
"There is," said the Doctor. "what I should have done in the first place, and with the vampire blood, it may work."
He stepped into Donna's arms, and the glow enveloped them both, and the horrid bell tolled on.
