A Heart To Be Broken
In the night, Kitty cried over the demise of her first love. Illyana crept into bed beside her, wrapped her arms about her friend’s heaving shoulders, offering what comfort she could.
It shamed Illyana to know Kitty’s misery was caused by her brother. That humble Piotr Rasputin had managed to reduce a girl who had faced monsters, aliens, and even angry Gods to bitter tears.
It wasn’t right and yet Illyana knew that it was better Kitty should feel such despair then to be hard inside, as she was.
In Limbo, Illyana had learned early life’s worst and hardest lessons. At too young an age she had made herself as impermeable as her brother’s armor. Kitty at least still had a heart to be broken.
