Claudia never saw Alessa grow up.
But sometimes she pictures it, her childhood playmate becoming a teenager like herself. And she would give anything just to hold her one more time, to sing to her, to promise her that they would be together forever.
Her father once told her that Alessa was a sacrifice, and even more precious now. This is one of the many reasons Claudia hates her father. Alessa was the only one she ever loved, not even excepting her own mother.
She looks down at the bruises on her legs, and imagines her Alessa crying for her.
