Finally he speaks: "Did you pray to be free of this?"
I shake my head.
"I see. The devil wouldn't let you pray." There is a pause, then, "It must stop. Can you two tell me you will try?"
I glance at you. Your neck is straight, your chin held high. Unrepentant, you answer: "No."
