It's mostly quiet, and when Subaru walks through the door, she reeks of sweat and something else Tiana would rather not identify. It would be fine, certainly nothing unusual, but even in the moonlit darkness, Tiana catches the flatness of Subaru's eyes.
"I couldn't reach them..."
She mutters it really, only to herself, but Tia hears it clearly enough. She stands and gave Subaru a fierce hug; and as she stands there, gripping tightly into the dampness of short-cropped hair, Tiana wishes (not for the first time) that this job would stop killing the other girl's innocence by the inches.
