Title: The Only Game They Play
Author: lowbatterie , archived @

Prompt: Challenge # 194 - Game
Fandom: Law & Order: SVU
Pairing: Casey/Olivia
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: Grand total of 600 words, broken up into a drabble and two double drabbles.
Notes: Originally wrote this at four in the morning out of the blue, realized it fit the prompt and pared it down, broke it up. 'Full' version is over at my writing journal,
substitute_ego. That version is crossposted to casey_olivia and copper_n_steel (which is different by about 20 words or so).

When Olivia came home from work, dropped her bag at the door, shed her jacket by the couch and her shoes in the hall, she always proceeded to flop into bed. On the days she screamed into the pillow, Casey went to work.

She started with straddling her back; it always piqued the detective’s attention. At the very least, it earned her a glance over her shoulder. Casey would smile then, lean down and mold herself to Olivia’s back and with one hand grip those silky russet locks to pull them out of the way so she could kiss the back of her neck.

Sometimes that was enough to get Liv to roll over, and things took their natural course from there. Other times she would shift a little, but it wasn’t enough. Casey liked to slip her hands under Liv’s shirt, stroke up her sides with her fingertips, sliding her shirt upward with the motion. Every time Olivia arched her back to aid the process and keep the material from gathering at her stomach, Casey chuckled. Then the redhead would bend down again and lay kisses slowly down Olivia’s spine. She would scratch her fingernails down those tawny sides, earning a shiver from Liv’s ticklish nerves. She would continue to drop kisses on Liv’s vertebrae until she reached the small of her back just above her pants. (Occasionally, when Casey couldn’t help herself, she would lick instead of kiss at that last spot, which usually incited fun, similar activities.)

-

If all of that wasn’t enough, Casey would hop up to go run a bath. Letting Liv know it was ready usually involved throwing her last item of clothing at Olivia’s half-naked back. Upon discovering it was the redhead’s bra, the brunette quickly followed suit in disrobing and joining her girlfriend in the bathroom.

Casey was always already in the scented, bubbly water, backed up against the back of the tub so Olivia could sit in front of her. When she did, Casey would administer a few more soft kisses to Olivia’s neck, then reach for the hair care products.

-

Depending on Liv’s mood, Casey would wash her hair for her. Legs curled around her protectively, olive-skinned back pressed against porcelain front, slender fingers massaged through golden brown hair. Depending on how many hours straight she’d worked prior to coming home, Liv may fall asleep under the gentle scrubbing of her scalp. She always woke when Casey put her lips to her ear, though.

“Have I gotten Olivia back?” she always asked, at any stage of this game, starting with the slump of a fake-leather handbag hitting the entryway floor. Liv, when she finally felt like the city grime and human crime were put far away, would smile and answer, “Yes,” nodding.

Casey’s teeth would nibble on that earlobe and Olivia would run her palms over smooth alabaster legs she could hardly wait to have wrapped around her. “You’re too good to me, Casey,” she’d say as they stepped out of the bath and into towels, facing each other. Casey’s grin would overtake that pretty red mouth.

“I know. Prove you deserve me.”

And Liv would kiss her so soundly she’d have to wrap an arm around the younger woman’s slender waist because it never failed to make Casey weak at the knees. Casey would drape her arms around those strong shoulders and lean back from that hello kiss a little bit dazed.

With a cheeky grin, Liv would ask, “Do I?”

Tangling a hand in wet hair to guide her back into a kiss, Casey would reply, “You do.”
