It would always start out when Jadu would enter the classroom. Ethel had an obsession with always being first to every class, always. Ethel’s eyes would glare at Jadu while she was taking her seat, watching every single gesture the other girl made. Mildred was positive that Jadu was examining Ethel in the same manner. She thought it seemed almost like the two girls were flirting.
It always seemed that at the most unexpected moment the most minuscule detail would cause an explosive argument between the two.
