"Eek!" Shirley squeaked, trying desperately to avoid the swiping movements of the gelures sword. She tripped on the edge of her skirt and fell to the ground, throwing up her arms to cover her face from the attack.
"Shirley!" Chloe gasped, seeing the dainty girl in danger. Leaving her place at Norma's side, Chloe rushed to defend Shirley, practically throwing herself in front of her companion.
Shirley watched in admiration as the knight fought back against the monster, cutting into the softer metal of the creature with her sword. Sweat dripped down Chloe's face as she fought furiously. To Shirley, the glimmering sweat was like glitter, only adding to the wonder of the scene as the knight- her knight, who had pledged her sword to protect her- vanquished the foe.
The danger passed, Chloe sheathed her blade and wiped her face with the back of her hand. She heaved a deep sigh and turned to Shirley, offering her hand.
Shirley smiled shyly as she accepted Chloe's strong hand and allowed the young Gadorian knight to pull her to her feet. "You're not hurt?" Chloe asked with concern.
"No, I'm fine," the tiny Ferines girl answered sweetly, "...Thanks to you."
