Laura smiles when she sees the woman’s alarmed look.
“Some people -and in your case, civilizations -only have their values because they can afford them.” The Captain wants to sit up. Laura prevents it, “Don’t throw me the ‘choice’ card, Captain. Because right now, you don’t have any.”
The Captain bites her lips in anticipation, her head leaning back as Laura snakes her way down.
“Can I…ah, at least interest you in…my point of view?”
A kiss, a daring exploration of the Captain’s mouth, then, “Yours or Starfleet’s?”
The Captain groans, “Starfleet’s” -before Laura buries them both in the sheets.
