Olivia decided it was the first time she ever saw Casey in the sun.
Not overcast, cloudy, mid-March New York sun, diluted by smog and the remnants of a lingering winter.
The first time she saw her mid-summer on a cloudless day and she caught the redhead on the steps to the courthouse. When the ADA turned, her hair shone fiery gold and she looked mildly amused at the detective’s call. Olivia blinked, said what she’d meant to say and had the young lawyer nodding, turning away.
One, two steps away, then…
“Good job. On that last case,” Liv nodded, offering her lopsided smirk.
Casey’s returning smile was brighter than the day itself.
That’s when Olivia decided she was going to kiss her.
