Hermione once told her: ‘every story has a beginning’. If so, Ginny would say their beginning was the heat of a moment that led to a collection of sweat at the base of a neck. It progressed when a helping hand turned tongue, removed the excess water. Hermione also said: 'each story has a middle'. Theirs took place among tall grasses and bug lamps and burnt skin touched tenderly by hands sticky with aloe. They agree on the end: two girls huddle against each other, trying to keep the soft breeze off their bodies; still sweaty, even though the heat is gone. Of course, they’re the only ones who'll read that.
