She had a name once before it dissipated into the heavy air of indistinguishable days, languor melting her bones.
The lepers never suspected her knowledge of the Persian gold, or the Queen who climbed the temple’s mountain-side with glistening forearms.
There were unearthly howls, smoke-filled corridors painted crimson over-night.
“We’ve had our justice.” The Queen’s mouth tasted of Laconian summers.
The Oracle suddenly felt the Olympian sun on her shoulders, approached the Spartan at the hall and whispered Gorgo’s words into Leonidas’ ear.
“Good,” the Oracle breathed out and there was a hint of a smile on the Queen’s lips.
