“Don’t know why you’re so pie eyed over that lady rentin’ the shuttle,” Jayne grunted as Kaylee watched Inara go by, reverence written on her face. “Seems to me like she thinks she’s awful fine and fancy, what with high class Academy learnin’ and all. Puttin’ on airs.”
Kaylee just smiled dreamily. Putting on airs was Jayne’s way of saying Inara was stuck up but for Kaylee it conjured up an image of the dark haired companion donning the sky itself-crystalline blue or star spangled black. Putting on the very air like it was one of her beautiful gowns.
