You watch her from across the room.
A substitute version of you, attending your class reunion, with hands that you remember so well clutching her waist.
When you feel Ashley’s eyes on you, peering over a swirling wine glass, imploring you to meet her eye, you understand.
It's just another lure. A way of saying I still want you.
They're always the same, the games.
Always so transparent.
You realise now how stupid you were. For loving her so much, for letting her hurt you.
