Author's Note: Truth be told, I've never seen an ep of Weeds in my life. But this came to me and wouldn't let me alone, so I had to write it. And for those that don't remember Laurie (shame on you!) she was the call girl Sam slept with in the first season played by the lovely Lisa Edelstein. Remember?
“I love pot!” Laurie giggled as she lit up her second joint of the evening.
Nancy watched her as she took a long drag, letting her head lull backward as the smoke circled around her. Her eye lids slid shut and she giggled once more to herself, humming a tune that Nancy had never heard before and figured Laurie herself had never heard before either.
“I can see that.” She finally said.
Laurie’s eyes popped open, seeming to cut through the haze of smoke as they caught Nancy’s.
“I’m not a druggie.” Laurie emphasized. “I’m a lawyer.” And then after a pause she added, “Almost.”
Nancy said nothing, merely smiled and watched as the almost lawyer took another drag.
Laurie held the joint up, as though motioning for Nancy to take it, but Nancy shook her head. Laurie merely shrugged. “I love pot,” she murmured, leaning close to Nancy, blowing smoke into her face before kissing her square on the mouth.
Nancy felt her head spin just the slightest bit. Contact high, she thought somewhere in the back of her mind.
When she pulled away Laurie’s eyes were slightly glazed, and Nancy couldn’t help but think that it didn’t have anything to do with the drugs.
“I love pot,” Laurie whispered once more, leaning into Nancy. And all Nancy could think was, so do I.
